Have you heard about the new cruise ship company Virgin Voyages?
We are so excited to introduce them to you and most especially to set sail with them as soon as possible.
I’ll admit, I put off cruising for a long time. I just didn’t think it was something I would enjoy. It freaked me out to think I would be out over open water on a giant horizontal floating skyscraper with thousands of other people. I would be stuck eating bland food, have to play bingo and shuffleboard, and only be able to do the activities the ship director had planned instead of venturing out on my own.
Like most travelers, I had some concerns, but all it took was one sailing and all my fears were laid to rest and I was proven wrong.
I really enjoyed my first sailing. The ship was beautiful and clean. The people were friendly. The nightlife was fun, and the food was delicious. We didn’t even have great weather, but I still had a memorable vacation and was also able to go out exploring islands and have adventures of my own.
A year later I got on another cruise ship while on a girlfriends vacay, and fell in love with the southern Caribbean. The ship I was on wasn’t quite as nice, but the itinerary was unbeatable.
Sailing is a travel experience everyone should try at least once. There is such a variety of ships and itineraries to choose from that I can’t imagine someone not finding one they love. There are large family friendly ships, small luxurious ships, yachting, sailboats, expeditions, river cruises and adventure sailing. You can even enjoy an all-inclusive-type vacation exploring all of the Hawaiian islands and only unpack your bags once – on a cruise ship.
So, back to Virgin Voyages…
Virgin Voyages describes their ships as, “A yacht-inspired boutique hotel at sea.” They have reimagined the way cruising should be. It is modern, fun, exciting sailing for adults. They say we can enjoy some Vitamin Sea: do nothing, do something, or do everything. The choice is ours.
Here are some of the perks I am most excited about.
