We like to be prepared for anything when traveling, especially if we are going to spend an entire day on airplanes and in airports. We’ve put together a list of some travel essentials that should go with us in our carry-on bag.
This list is for long flights, 4+ hours, and when heading out to get on a cruise ship. It feels good to be prepared for anything we may need during a long, exciting, (and sometimes exhausting) day – especially when you never know when you might encounter a delay or lost luggage.
Compression Socks? YES! My feet and ankles don’t get swollen, & my legs aren’t so sore after sitting through a long flight.
Disinfectant Wipes! Have you ever noticed how dirty your tray table is? Give it a wipe down along with the armrests & the back of the seat in front of you. It will simultaneously gross you out and make you feel better.
A Scarf or Sweater–I always bring a scarf or sweater on the airplane. I get chilly and it’s comforting to wrap something around me. A scarf is versatile and packs easily.
A Pillow!! My favorite item to pack for an airplane ride! I’ve been known to bring the pillow right off my bed. I don’t care how I look when I’m walking through the airport when I know I will be comfortable on the flight. I am currently on a quest for the best travel pillow. Let me know if you have any suggestions! My favorite one so far is the travel sized My Pillow. It can be rolled into a compact ball and molded into any shape you need for resting your head and neck.
